holiday blues…

so as much as i truly enjoying picking out gifts for other people and then wrapping them and then seeing their faces light up when they open their presents, holidays bum me the fuck out. the holidays remind me of my eldest bro, christmas especially because instead of going to midnight mass- we stayed home to watch movies. this is a tradition i still maintain but pretty much all by myself. dont get me wrong, my oarents are the best. funny. generous. well-meaning. it’s just the time of year, i guess. christmas is the only holiday k has to fly home for, so that’s a maj bum out, too. so now cheeto and i are watching “definitely, maybe” for the 3rd time and have eaten four pieces of chicken. i even took a bath to kill some time. my funk starts now.

BNE and me…

some of you have never heard me tell this story. when i first moved to sf, i was just starting to develop an interest in street art. soon after the first screen print was made, i began making stickers. BNE was who first captured my attention. what the fuck does BNE mean? soon i saw the sticker everywhere. it inspired me to make my own stickers…then i went abroad thinking no one has ever gone global with this sticker graffiti. frankfurt. venice, vienna, then prague…then in a back alley, there he fucking was…BNE beat me to the czech republic. damn you BNE. but thank you.

dear sf, we are sad to leave you. Especially our beloved lower haight. living above walgreens was so convenient, yet so sad. cheeto and i will miss the sounds of riff raff and fire trucks in the middle of the night. we’ll also miss james, the security guard. such a nice man. mostly we’ll miss the convenience of having our friends a few blocks away.

making the move to the suburbs was a difficult choice for all of us. but alas, i finally have a garage and enough space to have all my toys in one spot. we now live in the retirement hipster community. there are strollers and tight jeans, vintage t’s and nice cars…a mix i’m willing to put up with. our house though, goddamn our new place is fucking awesome.
